  Hello Grade One Families,           Just like that, another month has passed and Valentine's Day is just around the corner. This is a great time to discuss friendship with our kids, and build some social-emotional skills. In relation to this, the class will read a book called,  "The Giving Tree" , by Shel Silverstein., and we will be learning about sharing, loving and kindness. Along with this is a craft that we will be doing to integrate it with Art and I can't wait to share their "craftivity" which we will put on our bulletin board, SOON! Another ELA activity that we've been working on is the "Build a Snowman Phonics". In this activity, students are to complete different tasks focusing on CVC and silent E words, initial and ending blends, R-controlled vowels, long vowel patterns, and the digraphs and double consonants.
